Jeanne is a certified Pilates instructor, modern dancer and choreographer, with over fifteen years of professional teaching experience. By incorporating Pilates into her dance training, Jeanne recognized early on the many benefits of Pilates not only for dancers and athletes, but for people of all ages and physiques. This discovery, along with inspiring sessions taught by Master Teacher and Pilates elder Kathy Grant, led to a career in Pilates.
…When Jeanne works with us in our classes she inspires, guides and encourages us every step of the way…
Jeanne received her Pilates Mat and Pilates Apparatus Certifications from the Kane School of Core Integration in NYC, now called The Kinected Center. Jeanne’s certification required over 500 hours of class education and apprenticeship including anatomy and physiology. In addition to teaching traditional Pilates methodology that is geared toward lengthening and strengthening the body, Jeanne has training and extensive experience in working injuries such as torn rotator cuffs, herniated discs, pinched nerves, torn menisci and scoliosis as well as arthritic pain. Her wide range of clientele learn how to strengthen the appropriate muscles through Pilates and use rehabilitative exercises to relieve the pain and in many cases, forgo surgery. She believes in customizing each session according to clients’ needs, posture and alignment and makes sure that the client learns something new with each session. Modifications are often made and props are frequently used to accommodate and challenge each client.
Jeanne regularly attends conferences and workshops to stay current with her training. Master teachers that she has studied with include Kathy Grant, Lolita San Miguel, Julian Littleford, Mary Bowen, Jillian Hessel and Amy Alpers to name a few.
…After surgery and a few months, Jeanne eased me back into a rehab routine and now almost a year later I’m probably stronger than ever….
